In 1982 Danny Hartin, son and grandson of roofers Robert Lee Smith and Johnny Hartin, took over the family roofing business. He began installing shingles in the residential company and mopping down BUR’s in the commercial company. Danny Hartin set out to diversify the two companies. In the 1990’s Hartin added several different roof systems to the already traditional systems that the company had been installing for more than 55 years. 

In 1996 Hartin was introduced to liquid applied roof systems manufactured by Roof Mart International of Chapman Kansas (RMI). With their liquid Gold membrane and their 28% real aluminum coating, Hartin had found the system he had spent years looking for. He now had a system that could be applied to almost any properly prepared substrate and be able to give his customers one of the best No Leak Warranties in the roofing industry.

In 1997 Hartin added to the traditional line of roof systems, the more economical, and user friendly polyurethane foam roof systems as well as coating systems for metal restoration.

In January 2003 Danny Hartin merged the companies together to create the new Cross Country Roofing, Inc. Cross Country Roofing, Inc. has become a totally mobile company serving America from coast to coast with certified crews and constantly new updated equipment.
